Denis Sungho (드니성호) is a Belgian-Korean guitarist, composer, and producer whose work explores the meeting point between sound and silence. For Denis, music begins with listening: a single note, its resonance, and the space that surrounds it.
Born in Korea and adopted by a Belgian family, he studied at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Mons with Odair Assad and Sergio Assad. Today Denis increasingly focuses on his own compositions, moving beyond the traditional classical guitar repertoire into a contemporary neoclassical language where melody, atmosphere, and silence play a central role. At the center of his work lies a deep attention to sound — its warmth, its light, and the way a single note can open space. In a noisy world, Denis considers silence essential. For him, music and silence are inseparable, each giving meaning to the other. Both as a composer and performer, he approaches music as a space of listening. The guitar, for him, is not an identity but a source — one voice within a wider landscape of sound.
His music moves between intimacy and scale: the fragile clarity of a single instrument, the architecture of orchestral space, and the resonance of memory and place.
Born in Korea and adopted by a Belgian family at nine months old, Denis began playing guitar at seven and won his first competition at fourteen. He studied at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Mons, working primarily with Odair Assad and also with Sergio Assad during his year in Brussels — two of the most influential figures in the classical guitar world. From this strong classical foundation, his artistic language gradually opened toward composition and a broader musical horizon.
