Born in Korea and adopted by a Belgian family at nine months old, Denis began playing guitar at seven, won his first competition at fourteen, and later studied at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Mons under Sergio Assad, Alberto Ponce, and primarily Odair Assad. Recognized as a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organization, he became the first guitarist ever invited to the Martha Argerich Festival in Lugano.
